Mildred "Millie" Blanche (Paquet-Bentley) Covert, age 77, of Sears/Barryton, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids. She was born on March 2, 1933 in Flint, Michigan to George and Anna (Kuchrawy) Paquet. In the mid 1950's Millie made her home in Barryton where she was a waitress at William's Caf for many years before taking a teacher's aide position at Barryton Elementary. Millie later became the school secretary and finished her career as the secretary at Chippewa Hills High School in 1994. On April 10, 1992 Millie married John D. Covert at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Remus. Millie was an active member at St. Michael's and was always eager to help at God's Helping Hands in Remus and with events sponsored by the Barryton Lions Club. She enjoyed cooking, reading, her flowers and most of all spending time with her family. Millie is survived by her loving husband John, five children, Rita Taylor, Anna (Jerry) Hill, Richard (Linda) Bentley, Joan (Gary) Farrell all of Barryton and Joe (Laurie) Bentley of Chippewa Lake; stepdaughter Nancy Britton; half sister, Joan Paquet, 10 grandchildren who she absolutely adored and many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Millie was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Raymond Paquet and two stepdaughters, Sharon Isham and Madelyn Walker. A funeral mass will take place at 11:00 Monday, October 18th at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Burt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with a Rosary and time for sharing memories at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions in Millie's name can be made to St. Michael's Catholic School.
