Mike Closson, age 72 of Barryton, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born David Michael Closson on July 24, 1944 the son of Carl and Catherine (Simons) Closson. Mike lived his entire life in the Barryton area. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. Mike loved horses and his little dog, Book. He is survived by two sisters, Jackie (Virgil) Sowle, Marilynn (Dick) Glaspie; two brothers, Jerry and Tom Closson; one niece, Dana Grant and ten nephews, Michael, Marshal and Mickey Sowle, Lyn and Lee Mora, Tony and Rich Closson, Tim, Terry and Jason Closson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Martin Sowle. Graveside services will take place at Flake Cemetery in Barryton at a later date.
