Michele S. Strom, age 49 of Big Rapids, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer, Saturday, August 18, 2007. She was born September 27, 1957 in Lansing. Michele graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1975 and her most recent employment had been at Nartron in Reed City. Michele married Peter Strom on December 3, 1988. She was an active and dedicated member of the Reed City Church of the Nazarene. Michele had a tremendous zest for life. She had a wonderful ability to communicate and connect with people, whether through her love of travel, her church activities, volunteering as a Girl Scout leader or helping out at her children's school events. Michele lived her life first for God and her family. She touched many lives in an unforgettable way. She will be forever missed and loved by her devoted friends and family who's members include; Her husband Peter and two daughters; Erin and Kathryn "Kate" Strom of Big Rapids, A son; Jason Hays of Castle Rock, CO A granddaughter; Maddie Hays of Holland, MI Her father; Christopher and his wife Nadene Hartley of Arizona Her mother; Sharon and her husband Chuck Wernette of Canadian Lakes A brother; Donald (Nicole) Seaborn of Ludington Two sisters; Lisa (Byron) Prielipp of Thompsonville Tanya (Dick) Ringlever of Howard City and many nieces and nephews. Michele was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lila Pettingill Axtel. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Reed City Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Chris DeMott officiating. The family will greet friends on Tuesday at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Michele's name will be directed to the Youth Ministry at the Reed City Church of the Nazarene.
