Michael William Hopkins, age 55, of Barryton formerly of Lansing, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant. He was born on March 30, 1956 in Lansing, Michigan to William "Bill" and Joyce (Kendall) Hopkins. Mike graduated from Mason High School and had made his home in Lansing until moving to Barryton in 2009. Mike was a sports enthusiast and huge MSU fan. He enjoyed playing games and shooting pool. When he was able to fish he would and as a young man did his share of hunting. Michael is survived by his loving mother Joyce Hopkins of Barryton, two daughters, Kari and Kelly Hopkins both of Lansing; sister, Susan (David Guillaume) Cook-Guillaume; two nephews, Jason (Rhonda) Cook and Joshua Cook; seven grandchildren and many family and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his father William "Bill" Hopkins in 2008. Services for Mike will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with visitation two hours prior from Noon until 2PM.
