Michael Orin Knapp, age 81 of Big Rapids, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, March 30, 2022. He was born in Ashton, the son of Orin and Virginia Knapp. Mike attended St. Mary Catholic School through 8th grade and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1958. He joined the United States Navy after graduation and was active during the Cuban Crisis. He was honorably discharged on November 24, 1963. Mike wore many different hats throughout his life. He worked at Liberty Dairy and Krogers in Big Rapids, as a custodian for the Michigan State Police Post in Reed City. Mike was also part of the grounds crew at Ferris State University, and worked for Farmington Schools Transportation Department. Mike was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karol, children, brothers and sisters. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David.
