Michael A. Hite, age 65 of Hersey, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at his home. He was born June 1, 1953 in Reed City to Joseph and Virginia (Pollaski) Cornelius. Mike graduated from Reed City High School in 1973. He was employed by Federal Screw Works in Big Rapids for 40 years, retiring just over a month ago. Mike will be remembered as a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He liked to work, loved his birds and gardening. He is survived by his mother, Jenny Ecker of Hersey; his adopted father, Guy "Larry" Hite of Big Rapids; three sisters, Sue (Duane) Brainerd of Leroy, Janet Schaub of Newaygo, Terri Hite of Lakeview; a brother, Norm (Tricia) Hottmann of Luther; many nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his birth father, Joseph Cornelius and a sister-in-law, Diane Wood. There will be no public services.
