Obituary

Michael L. Dunklee passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026. He was born on November 2, 1979, in Sierra Vista, Arizona, the son of Keith Dunklee and Nita Terpening.

On July 8, 2011, he was united in marriage to Erica Hancock in Mt. Pleasant. Michael worked as a meat cutter at MacKersie Brothers in Barryton and most recently helped at Meemaw's, where he was always willing to lend a hand and take care of whatever needed to be done.Michael found great joy in helping others. He loved hunting, fishing, going to the race track, golfing, and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful uncle and proud "Pop Pop" who cherished every moment with his grandchildren. Gone far too soon, Michael will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Erica; children, Matthew (Mikayla), Ashley, Marquis Jr., Austin, and Makia; grandchildren, Maeve, Varrick, and Oakley; mother, Nita Wolfgang; father, Keith Dunklee; siblings, Stacey and Rocky; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.He was preceded in death by his best friend, Lucas Williams; the mother of his children, Heather Martin; and his grandparents, Shar and Edwin Osborn and Eldon and Donna Dunklee.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, 1:00 P.M. at the Barryton Community Building.
