Michael Richard Antoncew, devoted and loving husband and father, is now wrapped in the Loving arms of our Lord and Savior. He passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at the age of 36. Michael married Casey DeRosia on September 15th 2001. Michael was a 1988 graduate of Gaylord High School and graduated in 1995 from Ferris State University. He honorably served in Desert Storm with the 425th transportation brigade from 1989 to 1996. Michael liked all kinds of sports. He played basketball and softball; he golfed, fished, and hunted. He was also an avid fan of the Pistons, the Lions and the Tigers. Michael was employed by Paris Auto for 8 years. Surviving are his wife and best friend; Casey Antoncew and his daughter, Mary of Big Rapids. His parents; John (Jackie) Antoncew of Hersey, sister; Jeanette (Scott) Horksema of Marion IN, brother; John Antoncew of Kingsford MI. Father and mother in-law; Louis (Mary) DeRosia Jr. of Remus, sister-in-law; Tracy (Wade) VanBragt of Holland, brother-in-law Louis (Shelly) DeRosia III of Cedar Springs and many nieces and nephews and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his paternal Grandfather; John Antoncew Sr. Michael if you could only know how much you will be missed, there is a big void in all our lives. Please Lord let Mike know how much he was loved and how much we miss him. Memorial Services for Michael will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor John Mellish officiating. Committal services with Military Honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery, in Holly will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday.
