Merrill E. Ginnever, age 77 of Stanwood, formerly of Clyde, Ohio and Malabar, Florida passed away Monday, July 16, 2007. He was born May 28, 1930 in Clyde, Ohio to William and Myrtle (Gilbert) Ginnever. Merrill made his home in Clyde, Ohio the majority of his life. He was employed by the Clyde Public School System and worked at Green Springs School until his retirement. Following retirement he moved to Malabar, Florida to live. Recently Merrill's health had declined and he moved to Michigan to be near his family. Throughout his life Merrill enjoyed camping and especially his boat and fishing on Lake Erie. He is survived by, three sons; Bill (Corrine) Ginnever of Howard City,Steve (Tiona) Ginnever of Stanwood and Doug (Julie) Ginnever of Stanwood,11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, four step-children; Michael (Deb) Hessick of Fremont, OH, Terry Hessick of Atlanta, GA, Kenny (JoAnne) Hessick of Atlanta, GA and Tom Hessick of Bellevue, OH and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Merrill was preceded in death by a daughter Laura, a son David, wife Wilma in 2001, a sister Margaret and Step-son, Ronnie. Funeral services will take place 6:00 p.m. Thursday July 19th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids, MI with the family greeting friends one hour prior to services. Burial will be at McPherson Cemetery in Clyde Ohio. Memorials in Merrill's name may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
