Marjorie "Merlyn" Ghent, 93, of Paris, Michigan, passed away on August 3, 2025. She was born in Bitely, Michigan on July 26, 1932 to Harold Curtice Sr. and Inez Amanda Curtice. She married her husband, William Ghent on October 13, 1949, and hey spent 56 wonderful years together before Bill's passing in 2006.

Joy was brought to Merlyn's life in the form of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, often to watch sports, babysit, or to share her favorite meal of tacos. Merlyn was an avid supporter of the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers.

Merlyn is survived and dearly missed by her children: Brad Ghent, Cheryl (Larry) Seeley, Kathy (David) Golden, and Randy (Karen) Ghent; grandchildren: Bill (Tiffany) Ghent, Betsy (GR) Davis, Tera (Stan) Booker, Jill Weathersby, Marcus Heath, Luke (Bridget) Heath, Jessica (Dan) Elliott, Matthew (Brooke) Groff, Theresa (Norm) Armstrong, and Brandon Ghent great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren: Kristan (Ethan), Katelyn, Makenzie, Hayden, Ethan, Michael (Kaitlyn), Mason, Molly, Marcus, Carson, Allison, Clayton , Amara, Grace, Averie,, Mike Knott, Alivia, Brianna, Easton, Blair, Logan, Brody, Isaac, Ean, Emelia, Harrison, Alex, Andrew (Lindsey), Austin (Emily), Alex, Odin, Everly, Vesta, Landon, and Addison.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; daughter-in-law, Lorie Ghent; sons-in-law: Louis Heath and Jerome Groff; sisters: Geraldine and Miriam; and brother: Harold Curtice.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 11:00 AM at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes. Visitation will take on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Merlyn will be laid to rest at Pleasant Plains Township Cemetery in Baldwin. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Comfort Home, 204 North Patterson Road, Reed City, Michigan 49677.
