Obituary

Max Jason Kimbell, age 73, lifelong resident of Barryton passed away on July 21, 2011 at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant. He was born on February 20, 1938 in Barryton to Jason and Opal (Creevy) Kimbell. On November 24, 1956 Max married Vernetta J. Loomis in Barryton where they made their home and raised their family. Max was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force after serving 10 years during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of Gerald R. Pitts American Legion Post #473 and member of the Faith United Methodist Church both of Barryton. Max was a jack of all trades and known by his family as Mr. Fixit. Max is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Vernetta of Barryton; five children, Kathrene (Joseph) Louer of Roswell, NM, Johnny of Mt. Pleasant, Stephen (Laura), Brian and Janet (Mike) Jolman all of Barryton; his beloved mother Opal Kimbell of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, Kyle, Jason, Nikki, Amanda, Bradley, Kenneth, Allen, Daniel, Robert, Thomas, Gregory, Erin and James; one great-grandson Lewis; three brothers, Dennis (Jackie) of AZ, Doug (Sue) of OK, Bruce (Elaine) of OH and many nieces and nephews. Max was preceded in death by his father Jason Kimbell in 1995. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Barryton Church of God with Pastor Gary Bryan officiating. Memorial donations in Max's name can be made to the Barryton American Legion Post #473.
