Mary R. Messer, age 56 of Stanwood, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Spectrum Health - Butterworth Campus. Mary was born August 12, 1959 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Raymond and Marlene (TerMolen) Roszell. Mary had made her home in the Stanwood area for over 25 years. She is survived by her beloved husband, Lee Messer; eight children; 26 grandchildren; parents, Raymond and Marlene Roszell; siblings, Joe, Annie, David, and Christine and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by an aunt and uncle, Chuck and Betty Roszell, a cousin, Sue; a brother, Richard and a daughter-in-law, Chana Messer. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 2nd at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor David A. Struyk officiating.
