Mary L. Cluchey, age 93, a longtime resident of the Big Rapids area, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming. She was born January 20, 1921 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of William and Matilda (Campbell) Dosenberry. Mary graduated from the Barryton Rural Agricultural High School in 1939. She married Jack in March of 1939 and together they raised their family in Rodney. Mary was a member of the Third Avenue Methodist Church in Big Rapids. She was employed by Wolverine Glove, JCPenney and Walmart throughout her life. Mary enjoyed baking and reading. She loved spending time with her family and she will be greatly missed. Mary is survived by three children, Connie (Frank) Hoffmann of Denver, Larry (Sherry) Cluchey of Grand Rapids and Jack (Cheryl) Cluchey of Chippewa Lake; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Milburn (Doris) Dosenberry of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cluchey on July 25, 1968; seven siblings; and her parents. Funeral Services will take place 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13th at the funeral home. Interment will be at Martiny Township Cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
