Mary Carolyn Chester, age 75 of Stanwood, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Hackly Hospital in Muskegon. She was born August 2, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN. Mary was raised in Fargo, ND; she married Ronald A. Chester on November 9, 1960. Together they have lived throughout the United States and Michigan. For the last 25 years Mary made her home in Mecosta County. She was a bookkeeper and secretary for her husband Ron's trucking business, as well as other small businesses including the Austin Gas Fields. Mary spent her married life making a comfortable home for her family. She was an avid reader, in her quiet moments, but Mary's grandchildren were her entire world. Mary will be forever missed by her loving family including; 2 Sons; David (Vicky) Chester of Stanwood Randy (Suzy) Chester of Big Rapids A daughter; Lisa (Paul) Tolles of Paris Seven grandchildren; Daniel Chester, Mandy McCall, Monica Tolles, Jeremiah Tolles, Zachariah Tolles, Brian Chester and Dustyn Matthes and two Great-grandsons; Cade and Ryan Chester. Mother-in-law; Helen Bogunia of Big Rapids Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Chester on November 11, 2006. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 1st at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Harold Gilkerson officiating. Burial will be at Hungerford Cemetery. The family will greet friends this evening (Thursday) at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
