Marvin A. Bunting, 62, of Barryton (Sears) passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 26, 1952 in Sears to Marvin and Mona (Bentley) Bunting. Marvin graduated from St. Louis High School in 1970 and enlisted into the United States Army. In 1972 he was honorably discharged. While residing in St. Louis, where he raised his children, he was employed at Contech in Alma. After 30 years of employment he retired and moved back home to Barryton. Marvin was passionate about fishing, enjoyed hunting, wood working, gardening and camping when he was younger. He recently took an interest in raising chickens. Marvin is survived by two children; Tammy (Michael) Howd and Nathan (Cheyanne Simonovic) Bunting both of St. Louis; his beloved mother, Mona Bunting of Barryton; one brother, Michael (Deb) Bunting of Elwell; 6 grandchildren, Mikayla and Brandon Howd, Aiana Bunting, Brenden Bunting, Mallory Bunting and Lucas DeLong; one great-grandchild on the way; 2 nephews and many close friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Marvin and a brother Mark Bunting. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with the family greeting friends one hour prior from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the time of service. Memorial donations in Marvin's name can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the Catch-A-Fish campaign.
