Marilyn K. Schippa, age 85 of Big Rapids, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018.
She was born April 18, 1933 in Big Rapids the daughter of Milo H. and Helen C. (Sederberg) Anger.
Marilyns first love was her family which included her husband, Norm, of 52 years who preceded her in death in 2007, two daughters and spouses, four grandsons and spouses, and seven great grandchildren. She lived her entire life in Big Rapids and felt a strong commitment to her Big Rapids community where she was involved in many activities and organizations and attended and contributed to countless social events over the years.
While working at Ferris State University for 30 years, she also helped Norm create and sustain a successful construction business Big Rapids Builders. Her network of dear friends and The Immanuel Lutheran Church were very important to her. Many days and evenings were filled with good food and conversation with friends and often a competitive game of cards with lifelong girlfriends. She and Norm loved music and dancing and Marilyn could still be found listening to music and tapping her toes.
For decades, she was a very involved member of the Big Rapids High School Alumni Association and its board. Marilyn and some high school girlfriends started the Towne and Country social club in the 1950s and it still continues to meet to this day.
Marilyn made friends easily and will be missed for her engaging smile and her contagious love of life.
She is survived by her daughters, Teri (Chuck) Schippa Losey, Kathi (Gary Zizzo) Schippa Jorgensen; grandsons, Nick (Emily) Jorgensen, Eric (Kim) Jorgensen, Josh (Sharon) Wheeler, Jake (Jessica) Losey; great-grandchildren, RyLea, Cash, Braelee and Boone Wheeler; Adelyn Jorgensen, Meckenzie Connelly Jorgensen and Gabrielle Connelly Jorgensen.
Marilyn was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John and Charles Anger.
