Marilyn Percy, age 80 of Mecosta, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at Altercare of Big Rapids. She was born November 4, 1934 in Muskegon, Michigan. Marilyn was the daughter of George J. and Victoria (Goresch) Hosko. Marilyn graduated from Muskegon High School. She married Jasper Percy on January 17, 1953 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Muskegon, where they raised their family. After Jasper retired in 1992, he and Marilyn moved to Horsehead Lake, in Mecosta County. Marilyn had many hobbies, including; gardening, camping, cooking, crocheting, reading, playing cards & walking. Marilyn was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus and the Big Rapids AmVets Post 1941. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jasper Percy of Mecosta; three children, Joseph (Kenetha Griffith) Percy of Big Rapids, Mariann (Bart) Rommel of MD and Kristine (Chip) Johnson of Plainwell; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, MaryAnn (Gene) White of Muskegon; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carolyn Cerka and a brother, Bernard Hosko. A memorial mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus with Father Aaron Ferris officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. Marilyn will be laid to rest in the spring at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mecosta. The family will be forever grateful for the exceptional care that Marilyn received from the staff at Altercare. Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn's name to Hospice of Michigan or St. Michael Catholic Church.
