Marilyn P. Chart, age 80 of Big Rapids, passed away Friday, August 20, 2010 at Spectrum Health, Blodgett Campus. She was born February 19, 1930 in Big Rapids to Ralph and Myrtle (Chipman) Marlette and attended Big Rapids High School. Marilyn married Ronald Chart on August 10, 1956. They loved traveling the world. Together they visited 137 countries, 5 continents and all 50 states. Marilyn worked 14 years for Michigan Bell in Big Rapids, Holland and Grand Haven. She loved spending time in her flower garden, watching sports on TV and was a loving companion to her cat Dusty. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ronald Chart of Big Rapids; a sister, Lorraine Lavengood of Grand Rapids; brother, Ralph "Leo" (Lois) Marlette of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law, Catherine Marlette of Big Rapids; several dear nieces and nephews and her loving friend; Tammy (Gerry) Gillis of Big Rapids. Besides her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jack, Franklin and Dick Marlette. At Marilyn's request there will be no public funeral services. Her final resting place will be Highland View Cemetery in Big Rapids. Memorial contributions can be made in Marilyn's name to either Hospice of Michigan or Mecosta County Cares at P.O.
