Marie E. Teceno, age 79 of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. She was born September 9, 1934 in Detroit, the daughter of Raymond and Ina (Oke) Doss. Marie graduated from East Detroit High School in 1952. She began dating Louis Teceno their senior year of high school and they were married September 17, 1952 in Detroit. Together they raised their family in East Detroit and Big Rapids. Marie had a quiet personality but once they moved to Big Rapids she started bowling in a women's bowling league and playing bingo. She liked to sing karaoke, home making, gardening, baking, camping and going out on the pontoon boat. She enjoyed watching and listening to all Detroit sports; she was a lifetime supporter of the Detroit Tigers. Marie loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Louis Teceno of Big Rapids; four children, Rhonda Chili of Florida, Lori Teceno of St. Clair Shores, Louis (Denise) Teceno of St. Clair Shores, Christopher (Amy) Teceno of Big Rapids; daughter-in-law, Tami Teceno of Clinton Township; 12 grandchildren, Brian, Tricia, Ryan, David, Louis, Nicole, Chelsea, Gabby, Miles, Matt, Olivia and Nicholas; ten great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Skylar, Tucker, Tate, Tanner, Evelyn, Logan, June, Nolan and Violet; sister, Ida Heflin of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Darren Teceno; and sister, Margaret Zeitz. A memorial service will take place 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home with Reverend Daniel DePew officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23rd at the funeral home.
