Marie Morse, age 97 of Morley, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids on April 22, 1926, the daughter of the late Harold and Edythe (Ellis) Gervers. Marie was employed by Gibson Electrolux for 25 years before she retired. She looked forward to reading at Morley Elementary where she was fondly known as "Grandma Morse". Marie enjoyed traveling, going to the beach in Ludington and South Haven, listening to music, and watching movies. She liked spending time with her dear friend Birtie, especially looking for mushrooms. Marie was a member of the Morley American Legion Post 554 Auxiliary. She lived a good and happy life and was always able to do as she pleased. Marie is survived by three children, Ronald Morse (Patricia Farris) of Morley, Kathleen Wendling of Big Rapids, and Dennis (Dedria) Morse of Morley; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Nyeholt of Jenison; best friend, Birtie Clinton of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Morse, son-in-law Gerald Wendling, and brother-in-law Bill Nyeholt. The family wishes to thank the Tustin House staff for her care over the last ten years, and Hospice of Michigan staff for their comforting support during her final days. A Memorial Luncheon will take place 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, in the Pavilion at Morley American Legion Post #554. Marie will be laid to rest at Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley.
