Marie Emily Gibson, age 79, of Sears passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at her home. She was born in Six Lakes, MI on April 17, 1935 to Henry and Alma (Lahman) Courser. Marie married Stanley Gibson on October 25, 1952. They resided in Waterford where their family was raised. Marie moved to the Sears/Barryton area in the mid 1990's and enjoyed trying to win big at the casino. Marie was the mother of Roxanne (Ray) Weakland of North Branch and Debra (Donald) Roberts of Sears; she raised her nephew Terry Gibson as her son and will be deeply missed by 8 grandchildren; 1 daughter-in-law, Jeriann Gibson; 2 brothers, Bob and Rex Courser; 1 sister, Marclyn "Martie" Murphy; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Stanley F. Gibson; son, Stanley F. Gibson Jr.; brother, Hank Courser and a sister-in-law, Blanche Courser. Per Marie's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Evart V.F.W. Post. She will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2014 at Ottawa Park Cemetery in Clarkston. Arrangements and care have been entrusted to the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.
