Marian E. Bowers, age 88 of Morley, died Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 4, 1935 in Grand Ledge, the daughter of Frederick and Myrtle (Brown) Shepard. Marian enjoyed attending Green Church for many years. She was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) in Mecosta County along with her husband Ken. Marian was the matriarch and caretaker of the family. Helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to watch old westerns with John Wayne and listen to Elvis Presley. Marian was well loved. She is survived by her daughters, Jennie (Mark) Derby, Cynthia (Michael) Marrs; siblings, Richard Shepard, Lawrence (Judy) Shepard, Margaret Shaw; grandchildren, Dan (Vanessa), Richard (Sarah), Angie, Krystal, Heather (Cameron), Michael; several great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ken Bowers; sons, Kenneth Jr., Robert, James, William; siblings, Josephine, Frederick, Henry, Donna; and great-granddaughter, Jennie Bell Lynn. She will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2023, Oakdale Cemetery in Hersey. Care and arrangements by Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
