Mrs. Margot Mary (Gardzinski) Dodge was raised up to her heavenly home on January 24, 2020. She was born on August 1, 1931 to Marie and Frank Gardzinski, the second of two daughters, in Detroit. Margot attended Aquinas College and earned her education degree. While at college, she met her husband Ron Dodge and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage together. While raising their 8 children, Margot was a teacher for various grades and later taught special education while working on her M.S. degree at GVSU. She was an avid piano player and enjoyed playing classical music and singing to the very end. Preceding her in death was her husband Ron (2013), son Matthew (1983) and her only sister Joan Bartoszewicz (2018). Margot will be deeply missed by her children Kathy (Mike) Ermish, Greg (Mary) Dodge, Ruth (Jamie) Lovelace, Mary (Jeff) Powers, Joe (Sherry) Dodge, Patti (John) Kohane and Jeff (Christy) Dodge; 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Margot was nominated for Woman on the Year in 1975 and will forever be "Mom and Grandma of the year" in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home, 13985 Northland Drive, BIG RAPIDS with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 31 at St. Anns Home, 2161 Leonard Street NW, Grand Rapids.
