Margaret L. Whipple, age 92 of Morley, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at her home. She was born December 3, 1925 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Ralph and Doris (Smith) Woodard. Margaret married Clare Whipple on June 21, 1942. She was the Aetna Township Treasurer for many years and a member of the Rogers Heights Christian Church. Margaret was also involved in the Morley "She Bes", the MSU Extension Group, and she taught sewing to the 4-H group. Margaret was a talented quilter. She enjoyed studying her familys genealogy and camping trips with her friends in the UP. Margaret is survived by her six sons, Gordon (Peggy) of Stanton, Duane (Shirley) of Howard City, Bruce (Connie) of Morley, Dennis (Aletta) of Byron Center, Kenneth (Linda) of Morley, and Bill (Karen) of Morley; two daughters, Marie Whipple of Big Rapids and Rosalie (Doug) Moore of Morley; 20 grandchildren, Michelle, Wayne, Jeffrey, Beth Ann, Pamela, Daniel, Bruce II, Candy, Jenifer, Heather, Rick, Kendra, David, Ryan, Matthew, Lori, Michael, Janene, Stacy, and Derek; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clare on July 10, 2007; two sisters, Doris Munsell and Norma Hazelton; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor David Watkins. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3rd at the funeral home. Margaret will be laid to rest at Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley.
