Margaret L. Kerby, age 75 of Mecosta, died peacefully Friday, April 14, 2023 at Altercare in Big Rapids. She was born February 29, 1948in Lansing, the daughter of Carl and Gladys (Croy) Detering. Margaret had a passion for the outdoors. She loved tending her flower garden, going camping at Houghton Lake and enjoying many boat rides. One of her favorite pastimes was watching NASCAR, especially her favorite driver Dale Earnhardt. Margaret was an avid card player and adored playing with her dog, Peanut and spending time with her grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Don of Mecosta; daughters, Penny Van Mourik of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Lisa (Jim) Fuller of Columbia, TN; siblings, Doug Detering, Sandy Hrostowki; grandchildren, Brock, Brooke, and Brianna Van Mourik; many nieces and nephews.
