Margaret A. "Trudy" Hicks (Johnson) age 82, of Big Rapids formerly of Rogers Heights, left this earth to be with her Lord Monday, May 27, 2024, surrounded by family. Trudy was born in Knobel, Arkansas on June 24, 1941, but grew up in Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank of 47 years; parents, John and Mary (Rice) Johnson; brother, Marvin E. Johnson; daughter, Mary (Peter) Simatos; and daughter-in-law Helen Jewell Hicks. Surviving are her children, William "Willie" (Shyann) Hicks of Reed City and Michael Hicks of Utah; sister, Martha Baker of Grand Rapids; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Trudy attended Central High School in Grand Rapids. She married Frank Hicks on April 10, 1963, and raised their children in Morley and Frankfort, Michigan and Buffalo, Indiana. They later settled in Rogers Heights where Frank began his Ministry at Rogers Heights Christian Church of Big Rapids. Trudy was a woman of faith and active within her church and community. Trudy was passionate about being a first responder for many years. She adored her family and friends and will be missed dearly. Funeral Services will take place 1:00 pm Friday, May 31, 2024, at Rogers Heights Christian Church in Big Rapids with Elder Scott Davidson officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at Church. A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the funeral at Church. Trudy will be laid to rest at Ladner Cemetery in Rogers Heights.
