Margaret Mary Thielen Andres, a long time resident of Big Rapids, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at St. Ann's Home in Grand Rapids after an extended illness. Margaret was born July 22, 1917 in Beal City, MI to Peter and Mary Thielen. She was an active member of St. Mary Parish. At St. Vincent De Paul Society she worked with her husband John for 20 years. As an active volunteer of the community, more recently at Altercare, as an election inspector and a member of RSVP, she was a very busy and involved woman. Playing cards, bowling, golf and crocheting were favorite pastime activities all equally enjoyed. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John in 1989, and 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Family was important and surviving are her children; Jack and Lanice Andres of Temperance, Jean and Gene DeGraaf of Cedar Springs, Connie and Doug Tobin of Grand Rapids, Annette and George Cook of Wyoming, MI, Peter and Sue Lin Andres of Allen Park, Peggy and Rob Rocafort of Jenison, Richard and Vicki Andres of Big Rapids and Mary and Ken Friar of Traverse City. Also surviving are 24 grand children and 49 great grand children; her sister-in-law Lucille Thielen of Livonia and many nieces and nephews. Visitation at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16th with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Lam T. Le officiating will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church in Big Rapids at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17th with visitation at the church one hour prior to Mass. Interment will be at Mt.
