Marcella L. Amante, age 84 of Big Rapids, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Mecosta County Medical Center. She was born September 19, 1922 in Grand Rapids, to Theodore and Clara (Cox) Geib. Marcella was a member of the Big Rapids community for over 30 years. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Big Rapids until her failing health prevented her from doing so. She is survived by: 3 sons: Richard (Brenda) Amante of Big Rapids Charles (Brenda) Amante of Nashville, TN Edward Chambers of Columbia, TN 2 daughters: Barbara Lynne Chambers of Columbia, TN Rose Marie Amante of Phoenix, AZ 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, l great-great-grandchild, one brother, one sister Cousin and best friend "" Betty L. Howe of Big Rapids Several nieces and nephews. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Frank of 50 years and a sister. The family will greet friends on Friday, June 1st from 2 "" 4 p.m. and from 6 "" 8 p.m. and on Saturday, June 2nd from 9:00 am "" 12:00 Noon at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Interment will be at Garfield Park Cemetery in Grand Rapids at a later date.
