Obituary

Maggie Josephine Boger, age 109, a lovely and delightful woman, formerly of Lake passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Medical Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant. She was born January 4, 1898 in Sherman Township to Joseph and Myrtle (Haight) Geasler. As a child she spent nearly 10 years in the UP at a lumber camp moving from there to Tubbs Lake and then to Sherman Twp. On, August 29, 1924, she married Martin Boger in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death in 1976. They made their home in Coldwater Twp. on the centennial family farm with his parents. Maggie was a farmers wife her entire life. She was a talented seamstress and she was well known throughout the area for her beautiful quilts. Maggie's flower bed along Coleman Road has brought pleasure to many as they passed that way. She was an excellent cook, best with baked goods and pastries. She was a member of the Brinton Clever Quilters and Weidman United Methodist Church. Maggie is survived by her loving family: daughters; Virginia (Harry) Herman of Lake Pauline Estes of Lake Ruth (Ralph) Turnbull of Weidman Three grandsons: Thomas (Sallie) Herman of Lake Isabella Robert Turnbull of Holland Timothy Turnbull of Weidman Two great grandchildren: Christine (Jim) McFarlane of Mt. Pleasant John (Amber) Herman of Weidman Three great-great grandchildren: Maggie McFarlane Zachary Herman Hanna Herman Two brothers Raymond Geasler of Lake and John Geasler of Canadian Lakes, two sisters Jean Wilson of Hudsonville and Joan Geasler of Mecosta, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Martin she was preceded in death by her son in law William Estes, four brothers and four sisters; Earl, Claude, Mary Sheldon Carpenter, Mae Tice, Grace Lowing, Dorothy Kent, Albert and Payton. Funeral services for Maggie will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Weidman United Methodist Church with visitation at the church two hours prior from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A committal service will follow at North Brinton Cemetery. Memorial donations in Maggie's name may be given to the Weidman United Methodist Church, Isabella County Commission on Aging or the charity of your choice.
