Mable I. Sides, age 93 of Alma formerly of Lake, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, December 19, 2007, in Alma. Mable was born January 16, 1914 in Broomfield Twp., Isabella Co., to Ray and Iva Aldrich. On, December 14, 1935, she married Russell W. Sides in Mt. Pleasant and together they made their home and raised their son in Sherman Twp. Mable was a book keeper for a farmer implement business. Shortly after Mr. Sides passing in 1983, Mable went to live with her grand daughter Rhonda in Alma, where she has resided ever since. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an excellent seamstress. Mable will be missed by her son Thayne (Phyllis) Sides of Weidman beloved grand children: Kevin (Rebecca) Sides of Weidman Rhonda Davis of Alma Great grand children: Kal, Mirinda and Joe, Cody and Brandon who will treasure the years they spent with their grandma, great- great grand children; Zach and Josh and many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters; Maxine, Rosetta, Alice, Max, Jewel "Jay" and Wilbur. Funeral services for Mabel will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with a committal service at Sherman City Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday (today) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and two hours prior to Saturday's service.
