Mabel P. Strecker, a long time resident of Mecosta County, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010. She was born in Dumas, Arkansas on December 1st, 1930 to Joseph Cochran and Gertrude Bradford Cochran. She moved to Michigan in the early 1950's. She is survived by her children, Marcia Stollings of Excelsior Springs, MO, Vincent Hayes, of Big Rapids, Darrell Hayes of Texas City, TX, Don (Eldon) Hayes, of Virginia Beach, VA, Terry Hayes of Baldwin, and Lynn Strecker of Rodney. She is also survived by her sisters Pauline McMillan, Helen Creason, Bonnie Livesay, and Wanda James as well as her brothers, Marvin Cochran, Melvin Cochran, and Steve Cochran, all of Missouri. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Ivan Cochran and sister, Margaret Cochran, her father and most recently, her mother. A private graveside inurnment will be held in Bloomfield, Mo. Remembrances can be left to Meals on Wheels of Mecosta County. Keep my memory forever, In your heart and in your soul.
