Lynn Allison Minier, age 72 of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Sunday, May 27, 2018. She was born on May 18, 1946 in Muskegon, the daughter of Joel and Dorothy (Cooper) Burglund. Lynn owned and operated Lynn's Hair Salon in Big Rapids for many years. On April 18, 1986 Lynn married James S. Minier in Grand Rapids and they made their home in Big Rapids. She was the manager and an active member of the Big Rapids Elks for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Big Rapids American Legion Post 98.

Lynn looked forward to yearly pig roasts where she could spend time with family and friends. She loved stray animals which often became pets.

Lynn is survived by her husband of 32 years, James Minier of Big Rapids; two children, Melissa (John) Porter of Kalamazoo and Brian (Rebecca) Potter of Cadillac; two stepchildren, Susen (John) Pasquantonio of Grand Rapids and James (Rosemary) Minier II of Wyoming, thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren with one on the way and many extended family and close friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents Joel Burglund; her sister-in-law, but most of all, sister at heart, Judy Root and her grand-daughter, Nicki.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with the family greeting friends one hour prior from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations be given to Spectrum Health Home Hospice.
