Luella Mae Dockham, age 90 of Barryton, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Medilodge of Lansing. She was born in Sears on June 28, 1933, the daughter of Henry and Lovina (Bell) Haney. Luella was a 1952 graduate of Barryton Rural Agricultural High School. Following high school, Luella and her sister Wanda worked for the telephone company in Remus. She married Lee Dockham on June 5, 1969, in Bath. Luella retired from Oldsmobile and she and Lee moved back to Barryton. Together they enjoyed wintering in Florida, walking on the beach, and collecting seashells. Luella liked watching college and professional basketball on TV. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, playing games and cards. Luella is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Jim) Sproul of Lansing; son, Brian (Terri) Fountain of Morley; step-daughter, Sandi (Tim) Ayers of Arkansas; step-son, Tom (Sandy) Dockham of Kalamazoo; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Neil (Eathel) Haney of Florida and Kevin (Gwen) Haney of Barryton; two sisters, Michaelene (Larry) Tribe of Bath and Gail (Bill) Johnson of Barryton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee Dockham, and sister Wanda Esch. A Memorial Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2023, at Barryton Church of Christ. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2023, and one hour prior to the service all at Church. Luella will be laid to rest at East Fork Cemetery.
