Lucille French, age 82, of Big Rapids passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007 in Big Rapids. She was born January 12, 1925 in Grand Rapids to Peter and Casmira (Novitski) Nausadis. Lucille was very proud of her Lithuanian heritage. Lucille Nausadis married George French in Grand Rapids on August 24, 1946. She was honorable discharged from the United States Army serving as a nurse during World War II. Lucille was very proud that she had served her country. She pursued her working career as a nurse in Grand Rapids until her retirement in 1980. Lucille was a member of St. Paul's Campus Parish in Big Rapids. She was also a member of Big Rapids Eagles Aerie #2535, Big Rapids American Legion Post #98, Big Rapids Am Vets Post #1941, and the VFW Post in Grand Rapids. She will always be remembered as a fun loving person. Lucille is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, George French Jr. A daughter "" Norma (Bob) Patterson of Comstock Park, MI Two sons "" Ron (Jane) French of Hessel, MI Doug French of Suttons Bay, MI Four grandchildren ""Kristine, Andrew, Dannelle and Christopher A great-grandson - Clayton Two sisters "" Eleanor Maat of Woodland Hills, CA Ruth Vickner of Palm Dessert, CA Several nieces and nephews A funeral mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 14th at St. Paul's Campus Parish in Big Rapids with Father Lam T. Le officiating. The family will greet friends at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. that evening. The family will also greet friends one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial contributions to be made to St. Paul's Campus Parish or the Humane Society of one's choice in Lucille's name.
