Lucille Mary Aris, age 80 of Grant Center passed away, Friday December 11, 2009. She was born on December 4, 1929 in Stanwood, MI the daughter of Arthur & Katherine Conners. Lucille worked hard during her life, working at Wolverine, Ferris & on the farm. She was very close to her family and treated each one as a special part of her life. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and yard saleing for bargains for her family. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband David H. Aris after 22 years of marriage. Together they worked on the family farm where they raised their five children. She is survived by two daughters; Janice (Carmen) Palumbo of Stanwood, Jeanne (Phillip) Bigler of Greenville; Three sons; David (Cheryl) Aris, Edward (Venus) Aris, Roger (Towna) Aris all of Grant Center, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and expecting 2 more, two brothers; Richard (Jeannine) Conners of Stanwood, Danny (Joyce) Conners of Barryton, three sisters; Martha (Earl) Smith of Grand Rapids, Kay Corlew of Newaygo, Violet (Harold) Buchholz of Marion and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by two sisters; Lydia DeMott and Virginia Frantz, two brothers; Dale and Henry Conners. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Interment will take place at Grant Center Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Lucille's name can be made to the Grant Center United Methodist Church where she had attended.
