Lt. Thomas Henderson, age 67, retired, Harper Woods Fire Fighter of 25 years passed away on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He was born in Detroit, MI on May 7, 1942. Tom was an avid wood worker, hunter and taught hunters safety classes in the Big Rapids area. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rosemary (Wagner) Henderson, children; Helene (Jerry) Clark, Mark (Deana) Henderson, Jennifer Henderson, David (Janna) Henderson, Grandchildren; Olivia and Conrad Henderson, a sister Maryanne Henderson, a brother John Henderson, 7 sisters-in-law, 5 brothers-in-law, 26 nieces & nephews and 48 great nieces & nephews who knew him as Uncle T. and several close friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Mary Kathleen (Osburn) and Charles, and his favorite mother-in-law, Frances Wagner. A memorial gathering will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a time of reflection beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids on Saturday, November 14, 2009.
