Lowella Mae (Thompson) (Lenon) Miller, 92, passed on to heaven at Masonic Pathway's in Alma, Michigan on Thursday, August 21, 2014. We picture her in heaven with our dad, Gerald Ervin Lenon and our second dad and grandpa, Cloyce George Miller, welcoming her home. Lowella was born the 9th out of 11 children to Frank Porter and Lillie Irene (Williams) Thompson in Sherman Township, Isabella Co., MI, on September 26, 1921. She loved family euchre tournaments and Christmas. Lowella really enjoyed the parties her children gave in her honor. After the death of Gerald, at the age of 45, Lowella married Cloyce who became the loving grandpa to numerous grandchildren. She was proud to have six, five generation families from her down line. Lowella has been the pillar of this large family and will be severely missed by the family who survives her. They include: six children, Gerry (Ron) Curtis, Betty (Don) Nelson, Linda (Jim) Cooley, Larry (Mary Ann) Lenon, Dan Lenon and Connie (Jan) Settlemyre; one step son, Carl Miller; a sister-in-law Ruth (Lenon) Bandfield; 24 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren, as well as, numerous step grandchildren; a multitude of loving nieces and nephews, who have helped to make her life a joyous and full experience. Those passing before her were; two husbands, Gerald and Cloyce; her parents; a daughter-in-law Jeane; step-daughter, Caroline Miller; siblings, Clifford, Floyd, Urban, Virgil, Beatrice, Thelma, Rita, Geneva, Gwendolyn and Eva; brothers-in-law on the Lenon side, Max, Basil, Raymond and Donnie; brothers-in-law on Miller side, Miles, Floyd and Elwood and a sister-in-law, Jennie and all of their spouses. A special thanks to Linda Kranz for directing us to Masonic Pathways and them for the competent, sincere, and tender care they provided our mother and all of us. Memorial donations in Lowella's name can be made to Masonic Pathways, 1200 Wright Ave, Alma, MI 48801. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Bill Routley and Pastor Clay Bates officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, August 24th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday starting at 2:00 p.m .
