Louis "Bud" M. Byberg, age 83 of Remus, passed away Monday, November 6, 2006 at his home. He was born January 23, 1923 in Detroit, the son of Rudolph and Bernadette "Betty" (Couture) Byberg. Louis was honorably discharged from the United States Army serving in France during WWII. He is a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and life long member of American Legion Post 473 of Barryton. Louis married Bertha Hough on March 30, 1944 in Dearborn Twp. where they made their home until moving to Barryton in 1976. Together they ran the Byberg Party Store on M66 south of Barryton for several years. Louis was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed a good hand of poker from time to time. Louis is survived by his four children: Michael (Pamela) of Lake, William (Peggy) of Westland, Gayle (John) Rettinger of Barryton and Thomas (Laurie) of Remus, brother William (Donna) Byberg, sister Shirley (the late Delbert) Lee, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Louis was preceded in death by his wife Bertha in 1989 and his brother Mike. The family will greet friends and family Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. until funeral services at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Saturday at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Interment will be at Strong Cemetery.
