Lorraine M. Fairbanks, age 66 of Canadian Lakes, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at her home. She was born February 12, 1952 in Detroit, the daughter of Edward and Lila (Haskel) Lafayette. Lorraine earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Eastern Michigan University. She was employed by various hospitals throughout her career, including: St. Joes Hospital in Ann Arbor, St. Marys Hospital in Grand Rapids, Gerber Hospital in Fremont, and Mecosta County Medical Center in Big Rapids. Lorraine was a talented quilter and a stained glass artist. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Fairbanks of Canadian Lakes; two sons, Collin (Lisa) Kwolek of Macomb and Nathan (Myria) Fairbanks of Cary, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Justin and Angelica and Willamina and Marlowe. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial contributions may be made in Lorraines name to Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Cremation has taken place through the care of Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
