Lola P. Parish, age 94 of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Evergreen Terrace in Big Rapids. She was born March 7, 1924 in Lakeview, MI the daughter of Raymond and Florence (Switzer) Park. Lola married Fred L. Parish in Pocahontas, Arkansas on August 25, 1951. Together they made their home in Sparta until moving to Big Rapids over 30 years ago. Lola was employed as an assembler at General Motors in Grand Rapids for 23 years. She had attended the Stanwood Free Methodist Church. Lola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred on March 10, 1995; four brothers, Robert, Jack, Russell and Frank Park; two sisters, Ruth LaBree and Pearl Lujens. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and dear friends, including, Marilyn and Duane Anderson of Sand Lake and Suzanne and Denny Finney of Big Rapids. Graveside services for Lola will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Blythefield Memorial Gardens in Rockford with Pastor Adrian Eising officiating. Memorial contributions in Lolas name may be made to either Great Lakes Caring Hospice or Evergreen Terrace of Big Rapids. Envelopes may be obtained at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids where arrangements were made.
