Lois Blakeley of Big Rapids, Michigan, passed away on the 29th of July, 2025. Lois was born on February 1st, 1933, in Newaygo County, daughter of George (Law) & Doris (Carnes).

Lois graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1951. She later attended Ferris State University in Business. She worked for Wolverine for 24 years, then after leaving she became a caregiver for fourteen years for her mother, her husbands, and her good friend Jack Kilbourne.

In the past Lois loved to do volunteer work for church and running Euchre at the senior center. She loved to do crafts and attended many craft shows selling the things she made. From 2001, Lois opened her home to anyone who wanted to play Euchre plus meet friends along the way.

That was what Lois enjoyed the most, knowing that she could make a difference in someone's life. She also held many fundraisers in her home for those who needed help during their illness. Lois loved her home and enjoyed remodeling and working in her yard. She deeply loved her pets, often calling them her babies, spoiling them all the while.

Lois also enjoyed taking her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren shopping and trying to spoil them as well.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband's: Vernard Rolston, Daniel Blakeley, and Frederick Koolman. Her sons, Timothy, Daniel, Sam, and Rick. Granddaughter Tracy and two great grandchildren Sanduska and Douglas. Her sisters Dorthey, Mary, Idah, Esther, and Bonnie. Her brothers George, Forest, Eugene, and Keith.

Surviving are her daughters Christine Darling, Janice (Jim) Unger. And Ten grandchildren: Theresa, Jesse, LaTOYA, Cameron, Jennifer, Daniel, Candy Jo, Cody, Jessica, and Stacey, and seven greatgrandchildren: Dakota, Dustin, Mia, Abbigail, Lorelei, Valric, and Aaron.

As well as Bob Kowal, who was a good friend and caregiver, as well as special friends that are too many to mention.

Memorial donations may be made to the Church of Christ of your choice. Grave side services will be held August 7th at Pine Plains Cemetery in Big Rapids at 11 a.m. A memorial open house will be held after the grave side services at Big Rapids Township Hall, 14212 Northland Dr. Big Rapids, Michigan.
