Lloyd D. Eckert, faithful husband, loving father and grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior unexpectedly Tuesday, April 6, 2021. On April 9, 1944, he was born the youngest of ten children en route to the hospital in the family Plymouth; which is why we assume he had a passion for cars. Lloyd was raised in Six Lakes, the son of Frederick Milan and Ruth (Delamater) Eckert. He was a 1962 graduate of Lakeview High School. Lloyd earned an Associates Degree in Autobody from Ferris Institute in 1964. He married the love of his life Carol Wall on August 13, 1966, in Washington, Pennsylvania. They moved back to Michigan and made their home and raised their four children in Sears. Lloyd and Carol attended the Barryton Free Methodist Church together. In 1978 Lloyd founded Eckerts Body Shop, which he owned and operated until 2006 when he retired. He was humble, selfless, and caring; Lloyd always put his family first. He was a talented gardener. Lloyd enjoyed planting trees, flowers, and vegetables. He liked to go fishing and to car shows. Lloyd is going to be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his four children, Brian (Heather) Eckert, Christopher (Teresa) Eckert, Darren (Linda) Eckert, Angela (Walter) Conley; 18 grandchildren, Jade (Ethan) Honeycutt, Catherine Eckert, Arianna (Devan) Benedict, Heidi (Tyler) Frederick, Eliza (Andrew) Banks, Madison Eckert, Darcie Eckert, Allison Eckert, Sylvia Eckert, Bethannie Eckert, Mikhah Eckert, Faith Eckert, Naomie Eckert, Serene Eckert, Pazlee Eckert, Rosie Vanbennekom, Buffy Vanbennekom, and Daytona VanSpriell; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Alice) Eckert and Gale Eckert; sister, June (Lyle) Kimball; sister-in-law, Lucille Eckert; and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 54 years, Carol Eckert on January 31, 2021; five brothers, George Eckert, Jim Eckert, Elmer Tug Eckert, Ron Eckert, and Lawrence Eckert; sister, Betty Gilbert.
