Obituary

Linda Kay Terry, age 64, of Hersey Michigan, went to walk along the side of her savior, Jesus Christ, on June 2nd, at 7:10 a.m. after a brave fight with breast cancer.

Linda Terry was born January 8th, 1952 to the late Mabel Gail Terry and Benjamin Arnett Terry, in Summersville, West Virginia; she spoke fondly of her early years in the Appalachian Mountains. It was during that time that she developed what turned into a lifelong love affair with Gods four legged creations. She devoted her life to the preservation and education of animals, owning horses, raising Chihuahuas, rescuing strays and staying actively involved in the SPCA. The only thing she loved more than her involvement with animals was her role as a mother and grandmother. Her two daughters were her greatest accomplishment and her greatest motivator. She owned and operated her own janitorial service, setting her own hours so that she was there to pick her children up from and drop them off at school. Linda built a comfortable life for her family through dedication, an excellent work ethic as well as passion, loyalty and love for her "girls". She did not think her heart could hold any more joy, that was until the birth of her granddaughter. Her first and only grandchild, as she called her, was her "sunshine" and Linda lit up every time she spoke of, or was in the presence of her. She took such pride in being a "MeMe" and was sure to instill in her granddaughter the things she loved, such as planting flowers in spring, the importance of the Christian faith and being kind to all animals. Her granddaughter will, in many ways be her legacy because so much of who Linda was, thrives within her.

Linda Terry is survived by her two daughters, Heather Harper and Novella Fry, her granddaughter Shaylynn Harper, as well as her siblings Billie Brady, Harold Terry, Darrell Terry. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins including Joe Portelli, Eddie Danberry and many, many more.

Her family welcomes you to attend a Celebration of this amazing woman's Life, 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Bruce Killingbeck and Pastor Mark Killingbeck officiating.
