Lillian Jean Mondrella, 91, went home to be with her Lord on May 21, 2021. Lillian was born on July 20, 1929 in Big Rapids to Arnold and Margaret (ONeill) Berg and lived her entire life in the Big Rapids area graduating from Big Rapids High School in 1948. On June 30, 1951, she married Anthony Mondrella and they made their home at Clear Lake where she continued to reside. She worked at Hanchett Manufacturing, was a stay-at-home mom, then assisted her husband in operating Mondrellas Meat Market and later with Mondrellas Auction Service. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, longest tenured current member of Fern Grange #803, current member of a local card club as well as a former member of the Clear Lake Community Club and Clear Lake Farm Bureau. She enjoyed playing cards and her Friday lunches with her friends. Lillian will be remembered as a strong, independent woman who mowed her grass eight days prior to her passing. Lillian leaves behind her daughter Linda Telfer; grandsons Tony (Liz) and James (Rachael) Telfer; great-granddaughter Kendall who was "the little one" that put a twinkle in her eye and brought her so much joy in the last two years. She is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jerry and Kathryn Mondrella and Dick and Sharon Foust as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Tony; son-in-law Gordon Telfer; brother James (Margaret) Berg; sisters Helen Goldammer and Betty (Bob) Park; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bud and Marge Mondrella. Visitation will take place outside at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids on Wednesday, May 26th from 12:00-2:00 pm with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Pine Plains Cemetery.
