Leroy Junior Gibbons, age 88 of Rodney, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022. Leroy was surrounded by his two loving daughters, all ten cats and both dogs, all of whom he loved and adored greatly. He was born January 30, 1934 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, son to the late Arthur and Hazel (Henry) Gibbons. Leroy married Dolly May Waite on June 8, 1963 and shared a great life together. They had two wonderful daughters, Patricia Gibbons and Roxanne "Baby Girl" Gibbons, Leroy and Dolly celebrated 43 years of marriage before her passing on October 26, 2006. Leroy was employed by Lattimore Mobile Homes as a maintenance man. He took great pride in his work. Leroy was adored by people and animals of all sorts, rescues and strays, as well as dear friends, Terry and Julie Troutman. Funeral Service will take place 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Pastor Wayne McKenney officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, at the funeral home. Leroy will be laid to rest at the Martiny Township Cemetery.
