Leonard B. "Barney" Rehkopf, age 88 of Rodney, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his home. He was born July 18, 1924 in Lincoln Township, Osceola County, the son of Herman and Della (Steig) Rehkopf. Barney is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Dorathy; four children, Gwen Chapman of Big Rapids, Donald Rehkopf of Rodney, Penny Wagner of Holland, Lori Jackson of Paradise, CA; 12 grandchildren, Cara Seeback of Gaylord, Michael Seeback of Roger Heights, Daniel Seeback of Ridge Top, TN, Thorin Rehkopf of New Zealand, Morgan Rehkopf of Rodney, Earl Rehkopf of Chippewa Lake, Casey Wagner of Grand Rapids, Eben Wagner of Holland, Justin Jackson of Corona, Joseph Hyman of Durand; four great-grandchildren, Alexandria Rehkopf, Samantha Rehkopf, Sydney Seeback, Alaina Rehkopf; two sisters, Carol McLaughlen of Evart, Nadia (Larry) Larson of Morley; a brother Lloyd Rehkopf of Mt. Pleasant and many nieces and nephews. Barney was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Earl, Harvey and Norman Rehkopf; a granddaughter, Sarie Rehkopf and a great-granddaughter, Logan Rehkopf. A Celebration of Life will take place 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Chippewa Lake Community Building. The family requests no flowers or memorial donations; Barney wished to be remembered with smiles and laughter.
