Lenita M. Worthy, age 76 of Rodney, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Metron in Big Rapids. She was born May 13, 1939 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Franklin and Ina (VanVleet) Potter. Lenita graduated from Barryton High School in 1957. She married Philip Worthy on August 10, 1957 in Barryton, where they raised their family. Lenita enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing, and camping. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Philip Worthy of Rodney; two children, Tammi (Bill) Maxfield of Hersey and Troy (Sharon) Worthy of Barryton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Lenita was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Patricia Potter; and brother, Franklin Potter. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Pastor Bruce Peterson officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Chippewa Lake Cemetery.
