Lena K. Weld, age 80, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 22, 1943 in Flint, she was raised by Carlton and Eileen (Vida) Washburn in Tampa. Lena was a secretary at Ferris State University for many years. She loved to go on casino trips and watch classic black and white movies. Lena cherished the time she spent traveling the United States by trains, plane, or car with her husband Phil. She embraced her Slovakian roots and enjoyed making traditional dishes. Lena will be missed by all who loved her. Lena is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Phillip of Stanwood; son, Jason (Morgan Vanderhoof) Weld of Big Rapids; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fritz Dodock; and sister, Erma Howd.
