Lawrence E. "Edwin" ONeil, age 88 of Barryton, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Margarets Meadows in Remus. He was born September 3, 1933 in Big Rapids, the son of Lawrence and Alice (Moore) ONeil. Edwin married Joanne Horgan February 22, 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Big Rapids. He worked as a superintendent at ANR Pipeline for 34 years. In 1971, he moved the family to Barryton where he attended St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus for thirty years. Edwin farmed beef cattle much of his life, retiring just a few years ago. He enjoyed water skiing into his late 50s and traveling to Florida in the winter with his wife. Edwin is survived by his son, Edwin "Ed" (Peggy) ONeil; grandchildren, Amy (Mark) Holsworth, Joseph (Brooke) ONeil, Steven (Amanda) ONeil; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Horgan on September 8, 2021; parents; and daughter, Debbie ONeil. Together they will be laid to rest in the spring of 2022 at Mt.
