Laverne "Bub" Guy Lyons was born on July 23, 1945 in Hillsdale, Michigan to his parents Bernard and Ferne (Rodgers) Lyons. He passed away on October 30, 2020. His family moved to Barryton, Michigan in the late 1940's. Bub graduated from Barryton High School in 1964 and was honorably discharged by the U.S. Army in 1968 after having served in Vietnam. Bub went on to work at General Motors in Lansing, Michigan for 30 years until his retirement in 1994. He is preceded in death by his parents and other immediate family members. He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Yolanda; daughter, Lena (Torbet) Jaroudi; Dale (Tara) Torbet; Zachary (Samantha) Torbet; his three grandchildren, Dillon, Kaycie and Tyler; his beloved bassets and multiple granddogs. Bub will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who forever changed our lives, whether it was changing old family recipes to suit his taste, salmon fishing on Lake Michigan, or his constant and unlimited love and support. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Masks will be required; social distancing and limited capacity guidelines will be observed at visitation. No funeral service will be held.
